This is the kind of Audemars Piguet that serious collectors whisper about.
The ref. 25548PT Quantième Perpetual Calendar in platinum is unbelievably rare - one of just 32 platinum examples believed to have been produced. And the craziest part? This watch helped SAVE complicated Swiss watchmaking.
Released during the quartz crisis, the original AP Quantième Perpétuel became the world’s thinnest automatic perpetual calendar and proved there was still a future for high-end mechanical watchmaking.
36mm wide. Just 7.5mm thick. With a perpetual calendar and a moonphase.
That level of thinness was basically unheard of in the late 1970s and 1980s - and actually still is today.
Inside is the legendary caliber 2120/2800, based on Jaeger-LeCoultre’s ultra-thin 920 architecture, a movement family also used by Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin in some of their most important watches.
But this platinum models just hit differently. Most were made in yellow gold and platinum examples were almost never seen publicly, giving the watch this quiet, stealth-wealth presence collectors obsess over today.
This is peak old-school Audemars Piguet.

Facebook Ad appears, seems it should have targeted @FatBloaterFX instead of me 😂😂😂 “Fiddling monkey cufflinks” should appear at the next family office meeting!
@FatBloaterFX You're welcome as always 💋 Doing some digging on the issues it could be you've got an O-Ring gone, a faulty solenoid valve, a sticking mechanical steam dial, or a faulty temperature sensor!! So if it's under warranty, call them.
🚨 | Luca Cordero di Montezemolo on the new Ferrari Luce:
"If I said what I really think, I'd harm Ferrari. We're risking the destruction of a myth, I'm very sorry about that. I hope they at least remove the Prancing Horse from that car"
Interesting because it’s a nice EV… if it was BYD but it’s not a Ferrari. Not sure any EV design could be a proper Ferrari 🤷🏻♂️
I can see this being the Taycan moment for Ferrari, sitting on forecourts loosing residuals and only selling to allow allocations of desirable models 💸
@ListerLawrence@TGE_LDNM Probably my 1/1 Alpina B3GT for both comfort and speed, but the D3 BiTurbo wouldn’t be far behind… Defender also on the list but the DeLorean for pure nostalgia would also be hard to loose 😅🔥
