But that’s just it. South Carolinians don’t like all the growth that we’ve had because it’s not natural growth. I’m all for free-market driven growth, but that’s not what we have here. The growth promoted by the McMaster-Evette admin is almost entirely driven by corporate welfare. And it’s not the native businesses that benefit.

They better. 66% of Horry county residents (their voters) were born outside of South Carolina. It’s not a criticism of anything or anyone. Just a stark reality of what’s happening on the coast of the Palmetto State. Evette got 50% of the vote in Horry county and finished 3rd in her home county of Greenville with 22%. That’s a statistical anomaly that I find odd. Some may not.

@NancyMace Unsolvable problem but it’s the northerners coming in. Pricing locals out of market, eliminating our kids experience of the life we had growing up here, putting us at risk to turn SC Purple. More tough to stomach when similar red states have no income or property tax.

Conservatives generally defend Voter ID laws by insisting that all voters will be able to figure out how to get a valid ID, so the law won't disenfranchise anyone. But the truth is that a certain small percentage of voters actually won't be able to figure it out, which means that a certain percentage will be defacto disenfranchised. And that is all the MORE reason to put these laws in place. If you're so dumb, befuddled, and incompetent that you can't manage to perform such a basic task, then you are not qualified to vote. You don't deserve to have a say over the direction of the country. Stay home and let the competent adults handle it.
