@ThinkinTiefling@johnada85637452@IRL_Darius If the original act as examined by a court results in a not-guilty verdict per state code then the act was indeed never illegal. Killing someone in self defense, for example, isn't illegal even if you're initially arrested.

Also, having to apply an affirmative defense doesn't mean the act was illegal, just that it had to be adjudicated. Being arrested, which could potentially happen, also doesn't make the act illegal.
