As Secretary of State for the Environment Angela Eagle already has the power to take them into Special Administration.
"She can. She should."
The Windrush Scandal broke in 2018. A change in policy had meant 1000s of people who had spent most of their lives in Britain were being wrongly treated as illegal immigrants.
Chris Hayibor, a Windrush compensation scheme claimant, explains his story. It has been ten years since the Home Office admitted they made a mistake, and twenty years since he has been fighting his case.
The scandal became associated with people from the Caribbean. But people from across the world, including Africa and South Asia, were affected too. They are still seeking justice.

In the run up to the Budget on 28 October the media will tell you which cuts “must” be made. Here’s the list they won’t read out. Corporate welfare.
- The banks have already pocketed £6bn from the Tory surcharge cut. Labour still hasn’t reversed it.
- The Treasury also pays the banks interest on their QE reserves at the Bank of England. IPPR puts that at £22bn a year.
- Oil and gas firms get back tax they’ve already paid when they decommission rigs. HMRC’s own estimate: £24bn.
That bank reserves payment alone is more than the entire police budget for England and Wales (£21bn), and over 80% of what councils in England spend on adult social care (£26.7bn).
There’s always money. Now ask yourself why these numbers never make the media’s list of “tough choices”.
Sixty years ago this week, THE MONKEES arrived in record stores.
It still amazes me to look at that first album and think about the songs that were waiting for us there. Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart gave us “(Theme From) The Monkees,” “Last Train to Clarksville,” “I Wanna Be Free” and more. Mike brought in “Papa Gene’s Blues,” Gerry Goffin and Carole King gave us “Take a Giant Step,” and David Gates wrote “Saturday’s Child." Quite a collection of writers to have in your corner when you’re making your first record.
The album went on to spend 13 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart, but what means the most to me now is that people are still listening to these songs 60 years later.
And Rhino is marking the anniversary with a new 60th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, featuring the original stereo album, the mono album, TV versions, alternate takes, demos, backing tracks, radio spots, and new liner notes from yours truly. It ships October 30 and is available to pre-order at https://t.co/9miFoxJlx4.

Britain is facing a crisis of trust and power.
That's why today we're launching Better! - an alliance to remove the grip on power, wealth and information by the few - and return it to the many - for a better future for all.
