What if Sonam Wangchuk went on another hunger strike, but this time demanding the abolition of the reservation?
Would he get support from celebrities? Would Instagram influencers run campaigns urging the govt to listen to him? Not at all. If anything, he might be physically attacked, and the govt would arrest him for provoking public sentiment and inciting riots. Nobody would call the govt 'oppressive' that time.
Essentially, neither his hunger strike nor his life is what truly matters; only the narrative matters. All of this emotional appeal to rally behind him is not for his sake, but for the sake of the narrative. His supposedly good image among the youth is merely a smokescreen to obscure the agenda driving him forward.
Such kind of support is always transactional. The moment the asset stops serving the ideological goals of the narrative-creators, his moral immunity will be revoked, his 'good image' will be dismantled overnight, and the very same crowd that idolises him would abandon him.
#WATCH | North 24 Parganas | On Suvendu Adhikari's PA Chandra shot dead in Madhyamgram, BJP leader Swapan Dasgupta says, "I worked with Chandra very closely for different political campaigns. This was not an accidental death, but a pre-planned political assassination, a murder whose fingerprints will lead right to the top of a defeated party which cannot accept and reconcile itself to a devastating defeat in the elections... Chandra was at the heart of Suvendu Adhikari's political office and therefore, this was a very carefully targeted assassination. They knew the importance of Chandra, his route and it was planned accordingly... It was done by an assassin... It is a revenge. Since they could not win an election, they take it out through guns... A lot of people demand retaliation but I don't agree with that. I feel we should keep the peace, but we also should deal with it in an administrative way after the government is sworn in on 9th May."
Instead of dismissing the silent majority as ‘communal,’ India’s opposition should seriously reflect on why people continue choosing the BJP despite fatigue and anti-incumbency. Voters do not make such shifts in a vacuum. For decades, the Hindu majority has been expected to absorb every provocation quietly, apologise for its own identity, and watch selective outrage become a political strategy. From 1947 onwards, the community has repeatedly borne the brunt of violence, displacement, and ideological hostility, only to be lectured on tolerance whenever it raises legitimate concerns.
What we are witnessing right now, including the BJP making unprecedented inroads in states like West Bengal, is not just an election story. It is a social pushback. When even parties once seen as centrist begin indulging in aggressive minoritarian appeasement and sanitising Islamist politics, the Hindu voter eventually responds. Not out of hatred, but out of exhaustion.
Religious persecution and sexual assault of Hindu women employees, as horrendous as it sounds, does not seem like all of it.
Has Client data been compromised with? If I were a TCS client and if this company handled any sensitive data of mine, I would urgently review security and relook at the contracts.
India, the so-called Vishwaguru, should have handled the US–Iran negotiation… Pakistan is doing great
Anti-India experts were already shouting this as if they knew everything
Well… the negotiation has now failed
Funny how it works...
Had India led it and failed, the same voices would be screaming, "Vishwaguru exposed!"
For some, the daily priority seems simple... find a way to pull India down
And here’s another irony…
Believing the negotiations would succeed, Pakistan reportedly sent 13,000 soldiers to Saudi Arabia just yesterday after 49 days
Now if the conflict escalates again, what happens next?
Will Pakistan take a stand against Iran or remain stuck in an uneasy dilemma ?
Swara Bhasker's mother Ira Bhaskar has criticised Dhurandhar and questioned the portrayal of Muslims in Pakistan.
Her daughter and feminist Swara Bhasker took blessings from Maulana Sajjad Nomani, a pro Taliban cleric who opposed women's education, even claiming that it is 'haram' for parents to send their daughters to school or college unsupervised.
Tomorrow, if someone makes a film on the life of Maulana Sajjad Nomani, Swara's mother will blame the filmmakers instead of the Maulana whose own speeches wrote the script.
Now BJP will understand the foolishness of taking LPG to every household
There is a reason Congress kept LPG penetration in India at barely 50% even 60+ years after independence
The vision of Congress can never be matched by BJP.
You wrote a whole paragraph about ‘honouring a woman’ but forgot the one who spent 26 years with him and raised his children.
Elite moral gymnastics by TVK fan club feminist 😂
