Nobody grew up with the intention of being a cleaner, shelf packer, cashier, security guard, taxi driver, or car cleaner. They had big dreams, but life happened. Never disrespect a man because of the job he does .
The next time you develop your strategy, ask yourself: what do we need customers to do differently?
As Roger Martin explains, strategy is an integrated set of choices designed to influence people you do not control to act in your favour. For a business, that means giving customers compelling reasons to choose you, stay with you or buy more from you. Your growth targets depend on those decisions.
Ask yourself: what problem are we trying to solve that stems from customers not choosing or supporting us sufficiently? Why are they behaving that way? What choices will we make to give them a compelling reason to behave differently?
If your strategy cannot explain which customer behaviour needs to change, why it needs to change and how your choices will influence it, you probably have an action plan rather than a strategy.

A lot of jokes from King Charles tonight.
“You recently commented, Mr. President, that if it were not for the United States, European countries would be speaking German. Dare I say that if it wasn't for us, you'd be speaking French”
