silence isn't necessarily apathy; it can be a humble acknowledgment that the situation is too dense, tragic, and multi-layered for a person to speak on.
Be wary of anyone who has black and white thinking. If they think things are excellent or terrible and rarely express an opinion in the middle: run away.
Be wary of anyone who comes on too strong. What starts fast ends fast. Often if they love you at first sight they are interacting with a hallucination of you. That hallucination can change from hot to cold without you doing anything.
Be wary of anyone where you feel bad about yourself after hanging out with them. This doesn't mean they challenge you, that's fine. It's more like don't actually see you and you are just a prop in their show.
spoke to enough people at the top, you realize the game is actually pretty simple
once basic needs are met, everyone starts chasing the same things
good sleep, a stable relationship, regular workouts, time alone, books, deep focus, eating on time, and freedom from other people’s opinions
funnily enough, you don’t need to reach the top to start optimizing for any of them
Life is fucking electric bro. Don’t fall for the doomer shit. Thats for losers that have zero confidence in themselves. Treat each day like it's a new adventure. Spread light and abundance. Build things and take chances. This is the best time in history.
dating after spending essentially your entire adult life in a long-term relationship is nightmarish because I entered the dating world assuming everyone was as serious about building a life as I was. almost two years later, I’ve realized how rare that actually is.
and I don’t mean I want some old-school, cookie-cutter version of love. I want something real. I want someone who wants to look at all the fucked up shit we inherited from our families and say, “okay, what do we do differently?”
I want to build a family, a life, an empire together. I want us to spend decades loving each other, working hard, learning, healing, raising good and educated people, and helping them build lives even better than ours.
I want to be 70 years old, look around at everything and everyone that came from the life we built together, and think: holy shit, look what we did!
life is path dependent. every thought, relationship, skill, & piece of work is built from prior versions. the fantasy that excellent things arrive fully formed prevents ppl from producing the ugly first version required to reach the good one.
i.e. almost everything impressive is accumulated revision disguised as talent.
