[Humankind @Humankind_UK]

We're coming together with @rfmentalhealth to form a new charity.
A single organisation that meets more people where they are and has a bigger impact. A single organisation that provides mental health, housing and drug and alcohol support we all know has been needed for decades.

[Humankind @Humankind_UK]

Only 3 days to go until the launch of our new charity! 🚀

Richmond Fellowship and Humankind have a lot in common.

A determination to help people get their lives back on track - whatever that means to them.

Remember to follow @rfmentalhealth for more updates!

#RecoveryMonth Tip 10:
Keep learning. Knowledge is power! 💪

Find a way of learning that suits you, even if it’s just reading/watching trusted sources online. 🌐

Understanding the science behind your recovery can make things much clearer.

#RecoveryMonth Tip 9:
Using your time or experience to help others is so powerful. It benefits them while boosting your own sense of achievement and pride. 💜

You can contact local groups or charities or even volunteer to support your local community. 🤝

[Humankind @Humankind_UK]

On October 1st, we’ll be revealing our new identity, brand and values.

We asked our team of staff and volunteers what they are looking forward to about the new charity.

[Humankind @Humankind_UK]

“I’m excited about the potential we have to innovate and integrate services and specialisms into one model. A one-stop shop that’ll help with the intertwined challenges people have with their lives.”
Kevin Sauboorah, Head of Operations (Housing)

#RecoveryMonth Tip 8:
Stay calm. 💜

Feelings of anger, shame, anxiety or hopelessness can be tricky. 💔

How you handle them is what affects your recovery. Try mindfulness, meditation, exercise or whatever helps you to feel positive when you’re struggling.

We attended the 2024 #Recovery Walk and Festival held in Crystal Palace Park recently! 🌟

After the event kicked off with the recovery walk, there were stalls from different charities, food, alcohol-free drinks and music for everyone to enjoy in support of #RecoveryMonth. 💜

[Humankind @Humankind_UK]

Congratulations to @NewVisionBrad, @forwardleeds, @5WAYSLeeds/@5WAYSoutreach, @NYHorizons & Calderdale Recovery Steps for completing the Yorkshire #Recovery Walk!🎉

They walked 18.6 miles across the West Yorkshire Humankind services while fundraising for our Service User Fund!💜

#RecoveryMonth Tip 7:
Exercise and an improved diet are proven to be good for the body and mind. 🥗

Making healthy changes to your lifestyle will help your mood and rebuild your body. 💜

Exercise can restore your energy levels as well as help you sleep. 🏃

#RecoveryMonth Tip 6:
Find activities you enjoy. 💜

As the chemicals change in your brain, life can feel boring. 😒

When you find new things to enjoy or rediscover things you were passionate about, you can build structure, routine and a sense of achievement. 🤩
