Because it remains important to show the world what Russia looks like, the country that continues to spent hundreds of millions of dollars every night trying to freeze and terrorize the Ukrainian population, I have compiled a "best of" from my guides through Russia's cities.🧵

A mother kneels beside the body of her son, killed by a Russian missile in his own home. There are no words that can capture this grief.
While documenting the aftermath of Russia's attack on Kyiv on July 2, Ukrainian photojournalist Ivan Antypenko was invited inside by Tetiana. "You can come in and look, but my son Roma is lying there. He is dead. He isn't breathing anymore," she told him.
Russia's strike on Kyiv killed 30 civilians and injured dozens more. While the aggressor continues to wage war against human lives, the world must not look away. Russia's impunity must come to an end.
Rejecting Palantir: Europe Fights Back
European countries are waking up to the very real need for digital independence, as many are now rebuking the US tech surveillance firm, Palantir

BROWDER: Trump has been on Putin’s side since he came back into power. Neither Trump nor Putin has changed their positions since.
Nothing has changed other than Ukrainians’ position on the battlefield, their ability to destroy Russian economy and cause absolute havoc in Crimea.
Those are things Trump has no control over, and those are the things that are changing the outcome of the war. But I don’t think Putin or Trump has changed their attitude.
President Trump and his administration have waged a coordinated campaign against the safeguards protecting our communities and planet from corporate polluters. 👇🧵
.@SteveMiran has just openly acknowledged that the @realDonaldTrump administration is seeking to act like a robber baron in its economic relationship with the rest of the world, marvels @rodrikdani. https://t.co/KXuHsSRDqI
🇪🇺 Europe is turning its back on Palantir.
Andy Burnham is set to end the NHS’s £330m Palantir contract when he becomes UK Prime Minister later this month.
Spain has told state-backed firms to avoid new Palantir contracts, while France’s DGSI is moving to replace it with ChapsVision.
Switzerland has rejected Palantir over data sovereignty concerns, and Germany’s military has ruled it out for now over national database access risks.
Palantir publicly presents itself as "in the business of making America stronger and better"
In 2025, 74% of its revenue came from US customers and 54% from government clients.
The EU must back European companies and invest at scale in its own critical digital infrastructure.

@marcosagusstinn That’s good news! I have known for many years that Theil and Palantir are not to be trusted, it’s nice to see Europe waking up to the threat.
Presidents are supposed to serve the public, not use the office to pad their portfolio. Donald Trump has done the opposite, growing his personal fortune using the power of the office unlike any president in American history.
He is betraying everything public service is supposed to mean.
Think about the mail carrier who walks your street in the heat.
The teacher buying supplies with her own money.
The cop working the overnight shift.
They show more integrity and more commitment to the people they serve in a single day than this president has shown in his entire time in office.
Our country deserves leaders like them, not one who treats the People’s House like his personal cash machine.

@hissgoescobra I have lost all hope that he will be held accountable. Both political parties are controlled by unlimited dark money campaign contributions. Biden could have appointed an AG who would prosecute the people responsible for the January 6 terrorist attack and coup, he chose not to.
A prominent white-collar defense attorney told The Atlantic what the going rate is: two million dollars, you can have a pardon. Clients are being told to hire a specific person and then they will get it. The specific person collects the fee. The client gets the paperwork.
The formal process, the one that runs through the DOJ's Office of the Pardon Attorney, has been largely replaced by an informal network of intermediaries who charge for access. Liz Oyer, who held that pardon attorney role under Biden and into the early months of this term before being removed, described what replaced it as the Hunger Games.
The White House press secretary responded by saying Trump finds it detestable that anyone would profit off pardons. That statement appeared in the same article documenting a $1 to $2 million informal market for pardon access that is operating openly enough that one attorney called it general knowledge in the practice. Detestable is an interesting word for something that is currently listed at a market price.
An 11-year-old child and a 76-year-old adult were killed in a russian attack on Zaporizhzhia.
russian terror is indiscriminate — they have an urge to murder everyone.
