On day 13 of #30dayswild hosted a school group at @humberstone_bf telling them all about #peat and @ypp_peat Despite a bit of rain they had great fun playing in the boggy ground discovering how deep the peat is! (Including no actual pictures of children... but they were there!)
A damp, but very picturesque day training @NidderdaleAONB @TheWildWatch volunteers to survey for #GCN using '#eDNA survey technique. All set now to to hopefully find lots of Cresties in the Nidderdale area. @PondRiverStream
Thanks to everyone who came to yesterday's #peatlands event with @humberstone_bf in splendid @NidderdaleAONB - it was lovely to spend time with you all and we hope you learned something (and had as much fun as we did) #GivePeatAChance https://t.co/DEkPQs5tSs
#fallinlovewithwildlife#Moorland in the AONB is home to some beautiful plants. Cross-leaved Heath has distinctive pink, bell-shaped flowers that attract all kinds of nectar-loving insects. @BSBIbotany @NidderdaleAONB
