@matthew_west just blessed me through the song "Walking Miracle". Whatever you are passing through, you are a walking miracle, don't allow your present unpleasant situation cloud your head.
You are a winner through Christ.
Never assume you are good because people say you are good, consider the people that surrounds you. Everything is relative..... You can always be better.
Me: Can I marry that person?
God: Shey u dey whine me ni, I already gave you the criteria to know a virtuous woman. mtcheew, sho lo stubborn ni, I go let you know I done dey deal with your type tipetipe.
still built @esri, Bill gate built @microsoft & Elon Musk built @Tesla. We all celebrate them today cos we enjoyed what they built thru endurance & perseverance with little support. Let's build a healthy Geospatial community/industry for the benefit of all.
a peculiar problem & still unable to finish building. Even money can't solve the problem, it can only ease the pain. This is why many find it easier to copy than create cos let's face it, who wants pain? Despite all these hurdles to cross,Jack Dangermond
Building anything worthwhile isn't for the faint-hearted cos it requires breaking obstacles & so much patience, especially when there is no solid pre-existing framework or https://t.co/DIp4b7Ny9Q can have a unique & outstanding concept apart from solving
Because behind that elegant code, which appears strangely simple, are years of training. Someone who has mastered the art of coding overtime put that solution there. If they could answer you, they would tell you it wasn't a small feat. So relax and enjoy your own ride, too.
3. Moments of doubt. This particularly can be scary. There are times you doubt your ability. This especially gets more sad when you see how simple the solution to a bug that gave you sleepless night is. 😂 But don't let this quell your spirit.
There are hurdles to cross every now and then, but the journey is quite fulfilling. It's fulfilling because coding teaches you things you never knew about yourself, as you progress.
The level of expertise you see being displayed by coding gurus you know come from years of experience and sheer hard work. Nobody builds a Facebook or Twitter or Google overnight.
It's not a smooth ride as you may have projected or being told.
2. Reality differs from expectations. Yes, coding can be fun, but only when you know the nitty-gritty of the tools and technologies used. This takes time and practices, patience, hard work and commitment, which eventually culminates in great problem-solving skills.
Moments like that are the best, though as they teach you mental grit to weather the storm ahead. Those periods teach you how to search for solutions more optimally. Also, they make you reassess your coding journey, as well as how to better prepare going forward.
1. Coding can be frustrating. Forget the rhetorics of "you don't get frustrated on something you are passionate about". It's a big LIE. There are times you will feel like giving up. Patience and discipline are what will get you through those dark moments.
Everyone tells you how much fun is there in coding, which certainly is true. However, there are two sides on every coin. Below are some of the things people talk less about.
4. Coding is not a sprint. It's not a competition. It is called software DEVELOPEMENT for a reason.
Experience and expertise are gained overtime. Coding is more like trying to navigate the world on a map. It takes patience and time.
