Crazy banking stat from FT:

JP, BofA and Wells Fargo carry $1.6 trillion of ZERO interest deposits.

Paying 3% would wipe out half their earnings.

So the big banks blocked the exits. No agents allowed.

What do you think happens next?

Meta probably buys a bank and rebrands it Muse Freedom or something to provide a warm off-ramp.

Simply put in your current interest rate (um zero) and tally how much you would make by porting over (a lot more).

Takeaway:

A business that depends on the customer being ill informed or lazy is doomed to succumb to the market equalizing forces of AI.

@CRUDEOIL231 Freight fixtures are actually up (Alexandros WS950). It’s the Baltic assessment and FFA’s that are down. Hormuz escalation froze the market, and assessors are confusing the increased supply with lower prices. It’ll correct within 1-2 weeks and explode upwards by Nov 4.
