over the last 4 years, apparently having very few penalties called on their opponents is standard for Chicago
Bears opponent's rank penalty yards:
2025: #1 fewest
2024: #7 fewest
2023: #1 fewest
2022: #1 fewest
🚨Former #Bears WR Brandon Marshall was fined by the #NFL once by wearing cleats bringing awareness to mental health .
He paid it and then donated the same amount to mental health awareness
@GBraggsJr23 It’s definitely a promotion. Crazy for the NFL to allow this kind of loophole, & nothing will stop other teams from doing the same for a competitive advantage
@RapSheet NFL screwed the Bears, Cunningham got a promotion as a minority but apparently they aren’t getting comp picks like all the other 31 teams do for such
I really don't get the moral high ground of acting like not having 2 3rd round picks isn't a big deal.
Other teams have gotten it. So should the Bears. Semantics aside.
3rd round picks matter. As is career advancement for all. Either do away with the rule or do right by it.
@BradBiggs@jimmyboyclapps & why would the Bears block Ian from leaving for a true Promotion? He went from Assistant GM to the GM? Bears should be awarded for comp picks just like all of the other teams that helped develop minority candidates for promotions within their orgs.
@bearszn@AdamSchefter Ian wouldn’t have accepted the job if it wasn’t a promotion. Crazy work by the NFL when the minority hiring compensation was put in place as an extension to the Rooney. This will have a negative impact across the league if allowed
@MySportsUpdate Unbelievable. Other teams will follow the same loophole then. There goes the minority compensation aspect to benefit diversity within the NFL. Rooney Rule up in flames
@CourtneyRCronin Not a good look for the @nfl as it defeats the whole minority compensation aspect.. Loopholes like that shouldn’t be allowed by the NFL
