@homeschoolingm7 @ofqual Exactly! Complete lack of logic. They have invented a whole new system again from scratch which will put private candidates at a disadvantage and result in huge amounts of work for any centre that would like to help them. The logical solution would be exams as normal for PCs.
@homeschoolingm7 @ofqual Most online providers are not entering exam centres. A common unambiguous assessment procedure is required to allow schools to even think about engaging with the assessment of PC’s grades.
@homeschoolingm7 @ofqual The assessment process will depend on what the exam boards require. Only CIE have issued any information. The suggestion that PCs should be assessed using the same kinds of evidence as in school students has an obvious flaw. Most PCs are not taught students and......
@tahsvn @funnyhours @Jon18534175 @jenniferyh240 @externalcandid1 @maya200xx @ofqual@educationgovuk Absolutely! There was a 2 tier system in summer and Autumn 2020. PCs deserve the chance to sit exams in the Summer so they can progress.
@GavinWilliamson Out of the four options for private candidates, Ofqual has chosen the only option that is unworkable for schools that accept private candidates. So disappointed! Will we have to let down 200 candidates again?
@PearsonEdexcel @iamjasonyork But this means the candidates will be disadvantaged and unable to progress as happened in 2020. The COVID situation was also more intense in the Autumn. Run alternative series in the Summer.
@homeschoolingm7 @WeamMohammed20@GavinWilliamson@ofqual 2020 we had 380 PCs. It was impossible to collect, assess and authenticate evidence to supply CAGS for students we had not met and for a wide range of subjects we do not teach. With the best will in the world we lack the necessary manpower and expertise.
@privvandidate@ofqual Edexcel have just cancelled International IGCSE exams this summer. They say they will bear private candidates in mind but they better do it better than last year! So disappointed.
