Takeaways from the Spurs Game 2 loss vs. Oklahoma City:
- The Spurs played probably about as badly as they could and the Thunder were on the ropes all game
- De'Aaron Fox, I hope that ankle is ready by Friday, because you are very much needed
- Stephon Castle simultaneously kept both teams in the game, he was so good but yet so bad
- Thank you Devin Vassell for showing up from deep, we need you to keep that going
- Julian Champagnie has to figure it out, if he's not hitting threes you can make the argument for Carter Bryant
- Keldon Johnson's tunnel vision with the ball in his hands is just running through he can ending with a bad shot or turnover
- I'm not sure why there was so little looks for Victor Wembanyama, they got him going in the third, but that has to be for 48 minutes
- Did they forget how to take care of the basketball? Genuinely what is going on, if you have like seven less turnovers you probably win the game
- Every time they managed to make it close, there would be some abysmal turnover, or they would forget how to rebound
- I complimented the officiating in Game 1 and it somehow just went completely south
- That being said I want eyes on Isaiah Hartenstein the rest of the series, how did he finish the game?
- I'm also convinced they're teaching flopping, some of these flops are just shameless
- I figured SGA wouldn't shoot as bad as he did in Game 1, he had an MVP-type performance
- Eventually the defensive gameplan will involve guarding Alex Caruso
- The Spurs have to force more turnovers and I'm not sure how
- Spurs managed to win the rebounding and points in the paint battle, but at what cost
- The Spurs without point guards, playing as badly as they could, made the defending champs fight to the end on the road in must-win game for them, and they only came out on top by nine
- Dylan Harper please be okay
- To win in six, you have to lose two
1-1. We freaking move. #PorVida
Spurs are so far ahead of schedule competing with what people thought was a Thunder team that couldn’t bleed. Not to mention, they are doing it with a 7 man rotation of actual playable players
In a vacuum, the Spurs rotation is not deep at all and lacks a lot of shooting talent and overall size as well as injury insurance depth.
If BW doesn’t dig in his butt this offseason, the Spurs should easily beat the Thunder next season
Add a reliable elite level shooter, another pull up shooting PG/combo guard, and add a real PF with size and this roster is already 5x better. That’s not even a hard grocery list to achieve.
Super bright future with zero worries ahead
OKC embodies EVERYTHING that is wrong with basketball. That is why the entire nation outside of that middle of nowhere useless state is cheering for the Spurs.
This is NOT basketball 🤦🏻♂️
Dunking on the player who raised the MVP you wanted right in front of you and your biggest rival since you were 16 at the same time.
This is the greatest picture of all time.
Spurs lost the TOV battle, 3P battle, Fast break point battle, and survived a Caruso (29% 3P shooter) 8 3P night and still pulled out the win with no Fox on top of it.
