"A History of Panjabi Literature (1100-1932)," published in 1956 by Dr. Mohan Singh, the late great former Head of the Punjabi Department at Panjab University, Lahore. Based on his 1933 doctoral thesis, it was the first ever systematic study of the history of Punjabi literature.

Outside of scholarship, he was also a prolific literary author, publishing seven collections of poems, four collections of short stories, a collection of plays, and a dozen volumes of Punjabi literary historiography and critical commentaries.
