did any of you guys have the experience of feeling humiliated by simply being a kid. when I was 6 I had this Disney princess beach towel. I was so embarrassed about it even though I was only 7 and I DID like princesses and that’s.. that’s normal 7 year old stuff. I turned it inside out to hide the princesses. And then in elementary school they’d play popular music during assemblies and I would literally put my head on my knees cause I was so embarrassed. My mom would dress me in a Gymboree kitten get up and I HATED it even though I liked kittens!
And this isn’t me being like, “I had mature tastes as a kid, guffaw, guffaw, guffaw.” Because I didn’t mind any of this stuff! I just felt humiliated constantly and I don’t understand why I felt like my own childish existence was embarrassing at such a young age.
PRION DISEASE IS A "THOUGHT PROBLEM" - YOU CAN HALT AND EVEN REVERSE THE PROGRESSION OF IT BY ACCEPTING CERTAIN IDEAS AND FORCING YOURSELF TO ONLY THINK IN CERTAIN PATTERNS
Sometimes as an autistic person, thinking that people like me and enjoy my company/wanna be my friend feels akin to when people think the stripper is in love with them.
