@CoachQ_Butler@I_Coach_Speed That’s fair. But sometimes the solution is the collaboration with private coaches that you TRUST. I can’t speak on sprints too much since all my kids hurdle but I know you won’t find a lot of elite hurdlers without a private coach.
@CoachQ_Butler@I_Coach_Speed No that is definitely fair just keep in mind that you are unfortunately not in the majority. There are far more kinds that need the extra help than those that don’t. And sometimes it doesn’t matter how good the coach is if their workload exceeds their coaching bandwidth.
@CoachQ_Butler you know I see it from different sides but I’m also a private coach lol. We also have to ask if the high school coach is good why are the kids going. They are leaving a “free” coach to go pay for extra help. There is probably some type of disconnect. Rather it’s trust or other.
@CoachQ_Butler I think it depends on the athlete and who their coach is. If the kid is with you it’s definitely overtrained because you will give them plenty of quality work.
@CoachQ_Butler Not for your school but some schools don’t do speed work. And some programs just do wheel barrel runs and 300s for the full semester lol
