Weather warnings: issued by NOAA

Radar: maintained by NOAA

Ground truth: observed by NOAA

Hi-resolution models: produced by NOAA

Without NOAA, it would be much harder to predict and detect storms in advance, making you more vulnerable to severe weather.

[Andrew Markowitz @amarkowitzWX]

NCEP is the nucleus for all weather data in the United States. If this true and there is any lapse in coverage, it will make it nearly impossible for ANY weather entity to predict a severe weather event due to lack of computer model functionality. This is a huge deal. @DOGE

Firing employees from the NWS is saving the us government very little money, $3 out of your taxes a year is all that goes to the NWS. They were also very understaffed before this firing. This move is stupid and will put people's lives in danger.

[Governor Josh Shapiro @GovernorShapiro]

Come and take it.
