47 years ago today, we lost our two sisters, Fathimath Shahida, just 14, and Aminath Shahida, just 12.
You were the only girls among us, and when you left us so young, it felt as though a light had gone out in our home.
So much time has passed, yet there are moments when we still expect to hear your laughter or your voices. We feel the space where you should have been at every birthday, every Eid and every family gathering. We wonder about the lives you would have lived, and the memories we would have made together.
The years have moved on. Our love for you has not.
We still talk about you. We remember you. We carry you both in our thoughts and prayers. You remain a part of our family, as you always will.
May Allah bless you both, and our dear Father, with Jannatul Firdaus. Aameen.
Visited “Pulse” today, an immersive and interactive exhibition by @UNFPAMaldives exploring the changing population of the Maldives and the resilience of our communities.
A creative way to bring these important conversations closer to people, particularly young Maldivians, and get us thinking about the country we are building for the future.
Encouraged with the love and support shown to me and my team by the party members of Hulhudhoo & Meedhoo 💛💛
Our campaign is now on full swing in Addu. InSha Allah we will prevail.
The Maldives needs stability, reform, and progress, not more chaos.
We need a strong, proven leader who knows how to govern with excellence. Abdulla Shahid has demonstrated leadership through his service as Foreign Minister, President of the UN General Assembly, distinguished diplomat, and Speaker of the People’s Majlis.
Strong leadership. Proven experience. Proven delivery. A better future for the Maldives.
