June 21 marks National Indigenous Peoples Day in Canada, a day to recognize and celebrate the rich cultures, languages, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across the country. It is an opportunity to honour the knowledge and resilience of Indigenous communities, and to reflect on the importance of respect, understanding, and meaningful relationships with the First Peoples of this land.
At TNO, we acknowledge the significance of this day and join in recognizing the diverse and vibrant cultures of Indigenous Peoples.

Thank you to our Fire Response team working tirelessly to support our community throughout the week. TNO with the support of @DailyBreadTO @SJTcateringCollective and @fhc_chc distributed over 500 meals, water, snacks and fresh fruit to the residents displaced by the first on Nov 27th. We continue to work with the @cityoftoronto and @redcrosscanada to provide some solace at this time of need.
When crisis struck at 11 Thorncliffe Park and 21 Overlea Blvd, the incredible staff and ambassadors of TNO and the Hub sprang into action. Overnight, the Thorncliffe Park Community Hub became a safe haven for 115 displaced residents, many of them seniors. We provided shelter, emotional support, refreshments, blankets and accessible facilities. In collaboration with the @cityoftoronto Emergency Response Team- @redcrosscanada residents were relocated to hotels by dawn. This is what community resilience looks like.
