Interesting how some moments make more sense when placed side by side.
A song. A dance. A blindfold. An arrest.
Perhaps coincidence. Perhaps not.
History has a way of rewarding those who keep records and ask questions.@nbstv@CanaryMugume

If the President is the one picking the Speaker of Parliament for us, what is the use of our votes?
Our Constitution says all power belongs to the people. But right now, an independent arm of government is being treated like a department of State House. Why is everyone silent?
But then again, I’m just a nobody to worry about asking simple constitutional questions.
Staying quiet when things go wrong is how we lose our country. If the Executive now holds the big hammer in Parliament, where does the power of the ordinary person go?
What do you think?
Today, ERI is monitoring forest carbon dynamics in Luuka District.
Luuka is a low-forest landscape, with just 280 hectares of natural forest (0.44% of land area in 2020) making its remaining forests critically important for climate resilience.
Today, ERI is monitoring forest carbon dynamics in Busiki County.
Busiki is a low-forest landscape, with 960 hectares of natural forest (1% of land area in 2020)—making its remaining forests critical for local climate stability.
Today, ERI is monitoring forest carbon trends in Iganga District.
Iganga is a low-forest landscape, with just 1,800 ha of natural forest (0.72% of land area in 2020) making every remaining hectare critical for climate resilience.
Today we turn our attention to Sheema District in western Uganda.
As part of our ongoing district-by-district forest carbon monitoring, Earth & Rights Initiative (ERI) continues to track how local forest change contributes to climate outcomes. 🌍🌳
Ongoing district monitoring shows: For serious climate ambition in Uganda, district-level carbon intel must guide dev’t planning. High-carbon areas like Bunyaruguru aren’t peripheral env issues they’re strategic climate infrastructure. #ForestCarbon#ClimatePolicy#Uganda#NbS
Today looking at Bunyaruguru, one of western Uganda's most carbon-dense forest landscapes.
Past months, my ERI team & I examined forest C dynamics district by district to see how local land-use decisions drive climate outcomes. 🌳
What makes Bunyaruguru particularly important is its carbon stock.
The landscape stores roughly 16 Mt of carbon, split between:
• 7.4 Mt in above-ground biomass
• 7.0 Mt in soil carbon
• 1.9 Mt below ground
These are high-value climate assets.
