@nitrate1927@SunDevilVault@TheSunDevils@ASU It was my understanding that their stage coach broke down on the way to the meeting and that’s why they got stuck with the University. The two big prizes were the state capital and insane asylum (way more profitable back then).
@abc15@BearDownU Abyee is a baller!!! Coached her ALL the way back in Junior High at Flowing Wells. Great to see the love of the Wildcats passing from generation to generation
@SethDavisHoops Old high school coach here Seth. Would love to see it in person. Got an extra ticket for this PE teacher? (Not to mention my Cats are in it!)
This “if he doesn’t win he’s no good” is ridiculous. Building a championship program is a process.
Year Coaching - 1st championship
Olson - 14
Wooden - 16
Krzyzewski - 11
Dean Smith - 21
Bob knight - 5
Williams - 16
Pitino - 16
Izzo - 5
Auriemma - 10
"If they lose to Wisconsin in the Sweet 16, they're a bunch of losers. And Tommy Lloyd, you're no better than Sean Miller, except a little less sweaty and you look like a Cabbage Patch Kid."
@Bickley_Marotta discuss the expectations for Arizona heading into the men's NCAA Tournament.
For those pointing out the offensive outputs of Ivan Kharchenkov (0 points) and Koa Peat (4), consider they were responsible for defending Division I 3-point shooting leader Milan Momcilovic (5 points, 1 of 5 on 3s) and Joshua Jefferson (2 of 17, 0 for 5)
@OdjHoops You could field a NCAA tournament team with players that have left U of A:
PG: Boswell (Illinois)
SG: Filip Borovicanin (Xavier)
SF: KJ Lewis (Georgetown)
PF: paulius murauskas (St. Mary’s)
C: Veseer (UNC)
Bench
Kerr Krisa (Cincinnati)
Conrad Martinez (High Point)
@DaveSweet26@coachkfelix@AZSPORTSNETWORK You should hit them where it hurts most - pocketbook. Make all athletics go a year without a home game. During that time, admin needs to come up with policies/procedures showing protective measures and safety for opposing teams. Present that to the AIA before being reinstated.
@azc_obert@azc_preps Imagining punishing players and coaches for something they had absolutely no control over. How about you ban the fans from attending any AIA events for a year. How about Coolidge can’t host any games for a year until changes and procedures are in place to end unruly behavior?
@JustinESports Gonna be trouble if you keep the student section on the same side as the visiting team. I think about storming the field, kids throwing stuff at the opposing team, etc. Plus, if I’m not mistaken, teams will have to cross paths at halftime going to locker rooms.
@JustinESports I think if you don’t like it, then donate more money to the athletic program so they don’t have to find other means of revenue. Or better yet, just find 92,000 people who want to donate $20 a year for the next 15 years…
@JavierJMorales@curtis_dutiel Arizona could take some pointers from GCU believe it or not. Student section front and center - coordinated chants and songs - kids go for the experience; basketball is secondary.
@TheFieldOf68 Is there any coach (or fan), in any conference, who has ever said, “We have the best refs in college basketball” without a ‘but’ … no. Part of coaching is teaching players how to adjust to officiating both ways - whether you’re getting calls or not getting calls.
@BrucePascoe Been a UA fan since ‘93 when I enrolled there. They’ve always had one of the classiest fan bases in college athletics. Don’t let a few bad apples spoil the batch. Would love for the people of Tucson to show that on Feb 18 with a chant of “Love the Mormons” vs the other one.
