I often used `python -m http.server` to browse ML image datasets on remote machines and have always wanted a more functional file manager akin to googl-drive that you could run on your own machine. Couldn't find a simple one that I liked, so I made one:

Because I haven't seen it posted here, I just wanted to share what our "enemies" (insurers, worker's comp, long-term disability auditors) are saying when people with #LongCovid are trying to access rights that they are entitled to since they were diagnosed with 🧵(1/)
Amazing story. And if the way they attacked climate change seems familiar, that is because it is. When do we get an inside report on this being done with minimisers of covid19? Will it take 40 years?
I include/repeat some relevant quotes in this 12-part 🧵.
Thread:
A government official helped inmates at a Florida county jail register to vote.
Now 10 of them have been charged with voter fraud & could face up to 5 years in prison.
4 have already pleaded guilty & been sentenced to between 364 days and 3 years.

In this example from San Francisco, the concentration of SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater is in blue, and publicly reported cases in red. The red curve might lead you to conclude cases are much lower than in January, but the wastewater values are as high or *higher* than back then! (2/4)
Hold up wait a minute✋
There is no “increasing risk”
There is independent risk w/ each #COVID19 infection.
You can’t compare 1st and 2nd infection risk here.
Some folks believe risk of disability increases exponentially w/ each infection.
This is NOT what this study shows.
Thinking about skepticism reminded me about this from Darwin. Skepticism is perhaps more important now than ever in a world of misinformation.
But it can perhaps to easily become a habitual response that prevents further enquiry.
Excited for this launch from @StarkWareLtd along with @zksync 's upcoming launch. Honestly feels like a 2012 ImageNet moment but for the blockchain space.
accredited investor laws are the biggest racket in the financial regulatory environment
laws allow you to gamble & lose it all in a casino (games of chance stacked against you), but you can't invest in your choice of startup
they 100% contribute to entrenching wealth inequality
Surprisingly, a lot of SV tech frens understanding of the crypto ecosystem is dated from before 2017. Things have changed a lot. Not everything is a ponzi (though many are).
Real applications in gaming, distributed storage, compute already built. Much more to come.
@ChrSzegedy@sai_prasanna I could setup today a DAO with you and 1000 other friends to run a venture fund. No lawyers involved, no accountants involved. Everything is clearly out in the open. It would probably cost less than $30 to do so.
That's the magic of smart-contract systems like Ethereum
@ChrSzegedy@sai_prasanna A lot of things don't work because setting up trust structures (AKA lawyers and accountants) requires enormous amounts of upstart & ongoing capital.
@jerrybrito@RonWyden Senator Wyden has been a champion of the crypto developers and ecosystem throughout these negotiations and we all thank him for that.
Is there a name for the phenomenon where someone / some organization solves a problem so completely that the people who would've been impacted by such a problem believes the original problem was a hoax or never existed in the first place?
@nope_its_lily If you’re using meta mask, you’re likely overpaying on gas for the time being. The recent eip1559 rollout requires wallet devs and some dapps to update to new fee structure to minimize gas fees
