When there is a potential for severe weather, your life could depend on timely weather alerts.
During normal weather, it's alright to have just one source for weather notifications, but when things get severe, you really should have two or even more sources of weather alerts.
Many cities and countries also offer their own weather alert notification systems that can either email, text, or call you to notify you of severe weather conditions where you live and/or work.
This guide is updated every year with the current recommendations, including what is needed in your hurricane supply kit, how to prepare your home before a hurricane, and what to do if you must evacuate, as well important phone numbers to have after the hurricane has passed.
Do you know everything there is to know about getting ready for a hurricane? Is your information up to date?
It doesn't matter if you just moved to Florida, or you lived in the same house for the past 30 years.
Every year, everyone should check with their city’s Emergency Management’s office for their city’s Hurricane Guide that’s customized for that city. If one is not made available, you can find Broward County's Hurricane guide at https://t.co/zeOEDKyywD .
