Thank you to @HanaaTameez and @NiemanLab for this article about our panel on disability and journalism. The insights and perspectives from my fellow panelists were an impressive start to @iMEdD_org’s International Journalism Forum. https://t.co/10S5Yk53Qs
Incredibly grateful to @iMEdD_org for prioritizing this panel on disability as part of the International Journalism Forum.
As disability advocates say, “Nothing about us, without us.” Newsrooms can and must do better for disabled audiences and employees.
2022 RJI Fellow @hwise29 spoke about her fellowship project Disability Matters on an international panel in Greece yesterday! Love to see our fellows being recognized globally and helping people all over the world 🗺️🏆 https://t.co/umOybEaah2
We need to stop depicting mobility aids as a sign/symbol of inability to be or do something. My mobility aids aren't a sign I'm incapable of doing a job or living a full life. They give me the opportunity to do my job, to live a full life.
It was a pleasure to speak with @NCNewsWorks about Disability Matters and what journalists can do to improve coverage and accessibility.
Thank you for taking the time to mark the 33rd anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act for your readers!
For today’s #ADA anniversary & #DisabilityPrideMonth, this week’s #NCLocal features an in-depth conversation with @hwise29 & all the excellent info & resources for newsrooms in her Disability Matters toolkit, created for an @RJI fellowship. Dive in here: https://t.co/dZsX1QDivm

I’m now the Assistant Managing Editor for Engagement & Experimentation for @KCStar.
Beyond grateful to work in a newsroom that supports news experimentation & prioritizes deepening relationships with our readers. Thrilled to keep growing in Kansas City.
Speaking of… could not be happier that @AndaleGross is joining the @KCStar next week as our Managing Editor.
It is an exciting time for journalism in Kansas City. Can’t wait for what comes next. https://t.co/fSFaY6oYCU
The @kcstar journalists are top tier.
Especially proud of the audience team’s creative, community-centered approach to connecting readers with the news they need.
Couldn’t do any of this without @gregfarmerKC’s leadership and support.
Be on a team that inspires you 💖
@rachellobdell Thank you so much! Really means a lot. The entire team absolutely crushed it beyond our wildest dreams.
It was a chance to give our staff something fun to cover, and they really took advantage of it.
The ROI was huge. Bigger audience for us than the NFL Draft being in KC. 💜
Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce showed off his fashionable side in the new issue of Vanity Fair. Check out his looks from the magazine. https://t.co/MHvo8HMwP5
For those following along at home, common chemotherapy drugs that folks with chronic conditions and kids with cancer need remain in a national shortage in the US.
The FDA’s tracking database essentially says 🤷♀️ about when manufacturers might ship more.
Love to be chronically ill and reliant on chemo drugs that are part of a national shortage to stay alive 🙃
Missing doses absolutely causes negative outcomes for patients. Grateful to my doctors who are doing their best to help patients navigate this.
