There was a man riding his bicycle between the tents in the center of Gaza City, near our tent. My son Yazan saw him and began to cry, wanting to play with the bicycle. The man kindly took him and started riding around with him between the tents, just to stop his crying, just to give him a moment of joy.

Yazan he is nearly a year old now, and he has not seen a single beautiful day in his life. All he has seen is death and rubble, and all he hears are the sounds of planes and bombings.
His first year of life has been a witness to a war that has stolen every beautiful thing from him even the simplest dreams of children: a toy, a laugh, or a safe embrace.

A group of Palestinian bakers in Gaza break into the nostalgic song “وين أيامنا وين – Where Have Our Days Gone” as they bake bread together, trays sliding in and out and hands moving swiftly over dough. They sing of days long gone and memories that still linger.

Though only a few flour trucks have trickled into the Gaza Strip after the Israeli occupation sealed all crossings since March 2nd, nowhere near enough to meet the needs. Just one bakery inside of Gaza showing the unbreakable Palestinian spirit, alive and defiant despite the horrific crimes committed against them.

Today, a diabetic man collapsed in our camp and lost consciousness 😢...
Everyone started shouting, "Bring sugar! Honey! Anything sweet!" But the entire camp had none.
When they reached my tent, I told them I had nothing…
Then suddenly, I remembered a small jar of honey I had hidden away for emergencies, in case of famine.
I rushed it to him, and moments later, he regained consciousness — he survived.
His children hugged me tightly, and I burst into tears…
I felt proud for saving his life, but my heart shattered when I realized an entire camp didn't have a single spoonful of sugar.

How cruel it is to live in a time when honey becomes a hidden treasure, and survival is measured by a sweet spoonful…
