Pune has failed as a city.

And it genuinely hurts to type that as someone born and raised here who still owns houses here.

The traffic is pure, unending hell. Politicians and bureaucrats like @mohol_murlidhar @ChDadaPatil @navalMH @Dev_Fadnavis make beautiful promises, collect their cuts, and disappear. Coffers full. City empty of solutions.

@PuneCityPolice drop showbaazi videos of “catching criminals” for the algorithm. @PuneCityTraffic post fancy videos about how perfectly they handle the roads… while the actual roads look like a war zone every single day.

The RFD project is a catastrophe that’s actively worsening the urban heat island effect. Trees get felled at random and left rotting for weeks. There is no real public transport. Nothing serious is even planned. Just more roads, more digging, more flyovers - all of which do one thing: invite more cars and more chaos.

And the people. Native or migrant, doesn’t matter. Everyone drives like they own the entire street. Pure lunacy. Zero accountability. Never admit a mistake. Never improve. Never simply say “sorry” and move on.

I’ve seen lawless driving in this city since I was a kid in the passenger seat. It was never good. But at least back then people didn’t turn every small inconvenience into full-blown road rage.

These days just thinking about stepping outside takes a real mental toll.

Anyone else who lives here completely done with this place?

2019–2025
- Built a system run by a team that values ownership, judgment, and craft.
- Grew from 0 to 17M members by aligning incentives with behaviour.
- Built several products during COVID lockdowns.
- Raised $900M+ from global investors. Did 4 ESOP buybacks.
- Made Indiranagar and IPL ads slightly more interesting.
- Received a full stack of regulatory licences.
- Lost 35 kilos.
- Scaled from 0 to ~$325M ( ~₹3,200 crore) in annual revenue across payments, lending, insurance, commerce, wealth, and credit cards.
2026
- First profitable quarter (yet occasionally asked what our business model is)
- Raised another $900M from Meta in primary and secondary capital.
- Announcing our 5th ESOP buyback.

Today

CRED is ready for its next phase. I am stepping back and @miten steps in as interim CEO, partnered with an incredibly talented team. He has been heading strategy and finance and suffering me since 2020. I’m stepping away from the operating role and will continue as a shareholder. My commitment doesn’t change. Just the role.

Extremely grateful to our members, partners, regulators, and investors who made this possible. And to our board, Shailendra, Micky, Saurabh for their extraordinary conviction.

Team CRED, I’ll still expect you to be a 10x version of yourselves.

As for me, I’ll be joining Meta to lead WhatsApp globally.

Meta comes in as a minority investor in CRED. No access to member data.

While it’s come very far, the delta between WhatsApp today and its full potential is massive. I look forward to working with Mark, Chris, and the leadership across Meta for the next step in WhatsApp’s journey. Will, thank you for scaling something the world relies on quietly, and for making this transition smooth.

हा नकारात्मक फोर्स इतका जास्त आहे की बहुतेक सगळेच तरुण तरुणी याच ट्रेंड ला फॉलो करतात. अगदी खेड्यापाड्यातून हा ट्रेंड नॉर्मल झाला आहे. यात सर्व राजकीय पक्षाचे तरुण कार्यकर्ते देखील आहेत, अनेक तर पॉलिटिकल Influencers आहेत.

ही सगळी जनता मानवी मेंदूतील reptile brain वर चालते. Reptile brain म्हणजे मानवी मेंदूतील सर्वात जुना मेंदूचा भाग जो फक्त चटकन मिळणारे सुख व दुःख लगेच दूर करण्याच्या सतत प्रयत्न करत असत. या लोकांचा सेल्फ कंट्रोल अतिशय खराब असतो.

मेंदू कमरेच्या खाली असणारी लोक नवीन शोध कसे लावतील? आत्ममग्न असणारी ही लोक कोणाचीही नाहीत.

सारासार विचारशक्ति गमावलेली ही जनता स्वतःच व देशाचे भविष्य सुरक्षित करण्यासाठी कसे प्रयत्न करणार? त्यांना तेवढी अक्कल नाही कारण ती असती तर असले भंगार प्रकार झालेच नसते.

यांच्या आईवडिलांना व शिक्षकांना प्रश्न विचारायला हवेत. याना घडवायची जबाबदारी त्यांची होती.
