I attended an event at the House of Lords in London this afternoon, after being included in the Disability Power List 100 2019 – an annual publication of the 100 most influential people with disabilities in the United Kingdom. Shocked, thrilled, and deeply humbled!
I’m speaking at #BSPAR2019 next week about the impact of #jia on siblings in the family - it’s proven a valuable topic and there is lots to say. So important that the patient voice is heard and in the case of children/young people, the voice of parents and families too.
👩🏫👨🏫 Are you a teacher or member of school support staff with experience of juvenile idiopathic arthritis #JIA and/or other long-term health conditions in children? If so, please get in touch by direct message or email to @SimonRStones: [email protected]#BePartOfResearch
Say YES and help @CAPA_Arthritis and @iCANIreland to understand more about how young people take (or have taken) methotrexate #MTX. Responses will be used to create tips and tricks to share with other families. Complete the survey here:

As we come together for #BSR19, let us remember the reason why we are here - and why patients and families must be driving forward innovation within #rheumatology in partnership with our talented healthcare professionals. 'Dear JIA' by @neevcost_!

A1: Also remembering that rheumatic diseases affect the young person, and their family and friends. We’re generally not very good at looking at the bigger picture - young people with rheumatic diseases have lives beyond the Clinic! #WORDDay2019
Right, let's get started! Q1: What are some of the key challenges for children and young people with rheumatic diseases? Respond/quote retweet with 'A1' - and include the hashtag #WORDDay2019! @JordanCanning_

This video is about James' campaign to raise awareness of juvenile arthritis. He not only shares how important early diagnosis is, but breaks every stereotype you may have about children with rheumatic diseases. You rock James! https://t.co/OeHvIGBMoc
