🎥 Take a closer look at one of the latest operations in the ULTRA lunar lander Structural Model (SM) assembly campaign.
In this video, our engineering team performs the carefully coordinated 180-degree rotation of the upper assembly ahead of integration with the lander’s primary structure. Operations like this require detailed planning, precise crane handling, and close coordination across the AIT team to ensure the hardware is safely and accurately positioned.
As development of the ULTRA lunar lander continues, operations like this highlight the expertise and teamwork that are foundational to our progress towards the Moon. 🌕

🎥🌕 What makes the ULTRA lunar lander's upper assembly so important?
In this video, one of our ispace AIT engineers explains how the upper assembly brings together key components, including avionics, onboard computers, batteries, radios, radiators, and other electronic hardware that enable the lander to operate.
As the most complete representation of the ULTRA lunar lander before the flight model assembly begins, the structural model helps our engineers understand how these systems work together ahead of the transition to actual flight hardware.

🌕 Tonight's Full Moon is known as the Strawberry Moon—a name that comes from the strawberry harvest season in North America, not the Moon's color! 🍓
Whether you're looking up at the Moon from a city skyline, the quiet countryside, or a World Cup match in Houston ⚽, a brilliant Full Moon is a reminder we're all connected under the same stars.

We are pleased to announce that 7 members of our Board of Directors and 2 auditors were reappointed at today’s 16th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders.
In addition, at a subsequent meeting of the company’s Board of Directors, Founder & CEO Takeshi Hakamada was reappointed as Representative Director, effective as of today.
“Having been reappointed as CEO at this shareholders’ meeting, I am acutely aware of the weight of my responsibilities. In 2026, the space industry is experiencing a very strong forward momentum. In addition to the bold lunar landing mission policy announced by NASA at its Ignition event in March, concrete plans for lunar activities are also progressing in Japan through the Basic Plan on Space Policy and the Space Strategy Fund. As we enter an era of high-frequency lunar transportation infrastructure, our management team and employees will work together with a singular drive to create innovative value and achieve sustainable growth. We will move forward to meet the expectations of all our stakeholders, including our shareholders. We thank you and ask for your continued support,” said Takeshi Hakamada.

🎥🌕 What are the large cylindrical structures inside the ULTRA lunar lander Structural Model (SM)?
Check out this video of one of our ispace AIT engineers explaining the role of the mass simulator tanks used during testing. These components are designed to replicate the mass characteristics of ULTRA's helium and main propellant tanks, helping engineers ensure the Structural Model closely represents the flight configuration during testing.
This setup enables our engineers to test under more representative conditions and help validate the lander's design.

Today, we’re excited to hand the mic to the next generation of space communicators! 🚀
As part of a special mission control experience, students from Fukui Tomeiji Junior High School visited our Mission Control Center (MCC) and stepped into a variety of mission operations roles. Among them was Communications Specialist at ispace, where students learned how communications teams share the excitement of space missions with the world while delivering information clearly and responsibly during critical operations.
As part of their assignment, students captured action shots of their peers practicing in the MCC to tell the visual story of their experience, and we've included their photos here as a special guest contribution. 👇
🌈🌕 At ispace, we know that pioneering in lunar exploration requires a respectful work environment where all people can contribute fully and authentically.
Our crew in Tokyo gathered for a PRIDE celebration lunch in recognition of these values, which featured treats prepared through a collaboration with our employee Cooking Club and created a welcoming space for colleagues to gather and celebrate our diverse organization.
We also introduced a new pin initiative, giving our crew members the opportunity to wear either a PRIDE (respect for everyone) or Ally (acceptance and support) pin if they choose. These pins help signal that the wearer is a safe, approachable person to talk to. This is one of many efforts aimed at helping ensure that ispace is a workplace where all people are treated with respect, feel welcome, and can bring their authentic selves to work.

Piece by piece, the ULTRA Structural Model (SM) has been coming together. 🌘—>🌗—>🌕
These photos capture the final moments of a key integration activity for the ULTRA lunar lander's SM ahead of the testing campaign. Guided by precise crane operations and careful manual adjustments, our engineering team aligned the upper assembly with the lander's primary structure before successfully bringing the two together.
This operation marks the completion of a key phase of SM assembly, preparing the hardware for its next chapter—testing.

"We were delighted to welcome industry leaders, government officials, and distinguished guests to our new Earth Base office in Nihonbashi, Tokyo!
As interest in lunar exploration continues to expand, the gathering provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the opportunities ahead for the space industry and discuss the next steps toward sustainable lunar development.
We were especially pleased to host our esteemed Lunar Advisory Board members, Mr. Jean-Jacques Dordain, Mr. Yoshinori Komiya, Dr. Tom Ochinero, and Dr. Alan Stern, whose insights continue to help guide ispace's long-term vision.
Amongst industry representatives in attendance were Dr. Nicola ""Nicky"" Fox, Associate Administrator for @NASA's Science Mission Directorate, and Dr. Hiroshi Yamakawa, President of the @JAXA_en Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. Dr. Fox also added her signature to our Mission Control signature wall, joining the many partners, customers, and supporters who have been part of our journey to the Moon.
Thank you to everyone who attended! Through open dialogue and collaboration across industry, academia, and government, we move closer to unlocking the opportunities of the Moon."
🌕 One year ago today, we took another pioneering step toward the Moon.
On June 6, 2025, our Mission 2 RESILIENCE lunar lander descended toward the Moon's surface in a bold attempt to achieve a commercial lunar landing. While the mission did not end as planned, we are reminded that achievements in space exploration are only possible through perseverance, continuous learning, and innovation. The knowledge gained from Mission 2 has strengthened our technology, informed our future development efforts, and reinforced our commitment to the Moon and establishment of a thriving cislunar economy.
Every mission contributes valuable experience and data that helps move the space industry forward. As we reflect on this anniversary, we remain focused on the road ahead and grateful for the support of the ispace crew, our partners, customers, shareholders, and the global space community who believe in our mission.
