Per-country caps leading to disparate outcomes, with significant impact to quality of life, for folks living inside the US is not even an immigration issue. Its an issue relating to civil rights & individual liberties.
Perhaps chairman @RepRaskin should take note about #HR3648
Exactly. The drastic shocks to the immigration system over the last few years and Congress' failure to update immigration quotas that have been the same for 32 years have the same impact as supply chain impediments. 3.5% unemployment is the perfect time to start welcoming people.
In another trumpery, DHS issued automatic extension for upto 540 days for pending EADs that does nothing for H-4 visa holders. H4s continue to lose jobs due to USCIS delays. Thanks to our co-founder @nehamaha for the article.

@TheDipPatel @sentham76569308 @ucsantabarbara Sounds about right. Same case with drivers license. People with expired visa can't drive or get extension (which often happens with very slow processing of @USCIS ) but undocumented can get license as state lawmakers passed the laws.
Honored to be selected for the Design of Medical Devices Conference in the biomedical engineering hub, Minneapolis! Our proposed device is aimed at assisting in laryngeal cleft repair surgery in infants.
This is why we can't have nice things: another @USCIS example. DACA beneficiary applied for Advance Parole (travel permit). USCIS took so long to process it that her proposed date of travel passed; they sent a request for evidence asking if she still wants to travel. 1/X?
This is not good news for those applying for AOS. USCIS suggests doing away with EAD/AP "combo cards". Will provide EAD faster but will probably delay AP or travel documents. If EAD/AP are filed together, why not approve them together? USCIS seems to be going backwards.
@carolinesimon66 @carolinesimon66 The green card backlog provisions were not sent to the parliamentarian. Indians already in US with approved immigration petitions have a 195 year wait time 😕😕
Inbox: @RepAlLawsonJr + 61 House Dems wrote a letter to @USCIS raising concerns about delayed visa processing and long response times for congressional case inquiries at the Nebraska Service Center.
These delays cause "job loss, homelessness and overall anxiety," they wrote.
We stand in solidarity with thousands of immigrants today participating in #DayWithoutImmigrants to highlight the broken immigration system that has kept millions trapped with limited rights & unrealized potential.
