iTAG, or integrated track of aquatic animals across the Gulf of Mexico, is a research network that connects telemetry researchers within the Gulf of Mex.
Now introducing TrackdAT - A collaborative Acoustic Telemetry network housing 2461 analyzed articles spanning 614 unique species and 73 countries, with 5177 attributed authors! This new online portal is easy to access and FREE to create an account. @trackdat_fish@BarbieriSue
Huge thanks to our divers (Brandan, River, and Melissa) and crew (Bautisse) for braving the wind and cold temperatures to get our #TampaBay receivers downloaded this week!

Are you collecting acoustic telemetry data for marine animals in Western North Atlantic, Carib. Sea or Gulf of Mex? We are inviting collaborators to A-BioTrack to integrate tracking data into multi-spp diversity indicators. Deadline extended to Aug 8th.

@egreenheck sharing a portion of her thesis work on Gulf Sturgeon use of Mobile Bay. All made possible through a collaborative tracking network @Innovasea@iTAG_Science
Want to know whether your acoustically tagged animals have been detected across the national IMOS receiver network? Check out the new Mystery Tags lookup tool to find out whether data are available for these tags in the database: https://t.co/kQg46J9y1N
Delayed update on the red snapper tagging rodeo. The stretch goal was to acoustically tag 30 in a day. We got 20. Proud of the cowboys (not the calmest day) & glad we hedged our bets and tagged 13 in December! Also deployed a few > offshore receivers @iTAG_Science
Spatial + resource ecology is challenging to quantify in wild animals, especially marine fish. Our new @JAppliedEcology paper combines telemetry and isotopes to generate a resource isoscape to help inform habitat + fisheries management in Florida Keys https://t.co/zbcu4Oli8F
It’s a New Year which means new receivers, new tags, and new arrays!
Don’t miss your chance to enter @Innovasea purchase predictions for the iTAG discount along with any updates to existing or new arrays. Deadline is Saturday 1/15/2022
Happy tracking!!
@iTAG_Science …members please remember to update expected 2022 Innovasea purchase by 1/15. If u can buy the deep sea lego set for your adult child (ok that was me 🙂) you can add your expected purchases and help with our itag discount @Innovasea
OTN is excited to announce that @Innovasea is providing a VR2Tx as a draw prize for the 2021 OTN Symposium to honour Richard Vallee’s retirement. If you’re registered to attend, you could be the lucky winner!
Happy @OceanTracking and @Innovasea receivers heading back to the MERR lab after a 1 year deployment out in the Middle Grounds (Array #64)
Orphan detections will be uploaded shortly to the iTAG orphan exchange! Any guesses on whose tags we detected?
It's finally here!! A clean method for extracting covariates for animal movement analysis with Google Earth Engine and R...bam!
