Which is actually very much applicable to what modern American politicians do… “we spend money on the homeless” really just means we enrich ourselves and our friends using your money that we sent to an NGO that pretends to help the homeless.

The reason they do that, is because the single biggest expense of ongoing maintenance on a solar farm is vegetation management.

If the soil is less fertile they don’t have to mow thousands of acres as often.
