Rohit Rawat was 21. Studied at Nav Jeevan Ashram Inter College, Ghuttu. Enrolled as an Agniveer in 2024. Fought in Rajouri. And came home wrapped in the tricolour.

His father Surendra Singh was working at a hotel in Dubai. The moment he heard the news, he left everything and rushed back. Left behind at home were an elderly grandmother, a mother, and a younger brother.

The army gave him a guard of honour. “Rohit Rawat Amar Rahe” echoed across the valley. The local MLA announced a memorial gate in his name.

But no gate will fill the silence inside that house.

His teachers remembered him as disciplined, hardworking, and deeply patriotic from the very beginning. He had one dream. He lived it. He gave everything for it.
