Retired, living life, walking, taking photographs and enjoying everything that nature throws at me! Worcestershire and beyond!

[Sam Langlois @Naturalist_Sam]

Every time I photograph Sanderlings, the photos reveal moments that happen too fast for your eyes to see at the time, just like this bird standing perfectly symmetrical to me whilst pulling a little invertebrate out of the sand.

33 in the trap last night. Yellow Underwings dominated as usual so nice to have Chinese Character, Centre-Barred Sallow and two Common Marbled Carpets showing marking/colour variations to break the monotony!

[Ian Joseph @i_ijoseph]

@ruth_newby @kurtiemum @BC_WestMids Definitely a Hairstreak, been here before only a few days ago, landed but no camera to hand. Gone by the time we got back outside. Fingers crossed for some more sunshine to bring it or its friends back. Camera to hand today but wouldn't land. I think they know!🙂

[Ian Joseph @i_ijoseph]

Frustrating glimpse of Brown Hairstreak in back garden which wouldn't settle. Next door's Buddleia provided a distraction from a visiting Hummingbird Hawk-moth. Many thanks @kurtiemum!

@ivysuckle Wouldn't argue about the moths.....ever!🙂

[Ian Joseph @i_ijoseph]

Useless photos (Too early in the morning for me to spot wrong camera settings!) but new for me Red-green Carpet and a tiny Caloptilia helped balance the 29 LYUs in the trap this morning!

[Ian Joseph @i_ijoseph]

@pmandrews1973 @MOTHIDUK Seem to be! Happy days, always something new each time the trap goes out!

[Ian Joseph @i_ijoseph]

Thought this looked a little different. A Cypress Pug from last night's trap I think? North Worcestershire.

@pmandrews1973 @MOTHIDUK Still nervous about IDs Phil. Thanks for confirmation! Looks a long way from where it should be according to my field guide.

[Ian Joseph @i_ijoseph]

An Old Lady on wine/sugar last night! Impressive moth!

[Ian Joseph @i_ijoseph]

Had some company this morning whilst clearing the moth trap!

[Iolo Williams @IoloWilliams2]

More trees needed in more towns & cities

[Jon Dunn 🇺🇦 @dunnjons]

Goodbye, Freya.

A blameless Walrus killed this morning by #Norway's @fiskeridir simply for being inconvenient. Apparently the decision to shoot her was for her 'well-being'.

An astonishing and repugnant act. What the hell is wrong with people?

[Hugh Harrop Wildlife @HughHarrop]

In memory of #Freya - the wandering Walrus that graced us here Shetland last winter.

MURDERED today by the Directorate of Fisheries in #Norway because she was perceived as a "continued threat to human safety".

Abhorrent and unforgivable on every level.

[Ian Joseph @i_ijoseph]

@MOTHIDUK Brilliant, many thanks. Not even illustrated in my field guide!

[Ian Joseph @i_ijoseph]

Cedestis subfasciella or Argyresthia dilectella are as close as I've come to an ID for this one that really does put the 'Micro' in Micro moths! Could anyone point me in eth right direction please?
@MOTHIDUK

[Ian Joseph @i_ijoseph]

@MOTHIDUK Thank you so much, really appreciated!

[Ian Joseph @i_ijoseph]

Struggling with IDs on these from last night if anyone can help please? @MOTHIDUK

[Ian Joseph @i_ijoseph]

My first Maiden's Blush!

[Shit Lawns @Shitlawns]

You should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves @McDonaldsUK. Funnily enough your plans to
@haringeycouncil showed trees remaining and no mention of plastic carpet. Misleading the Public and Planning Authority!
