Only one chance in this lifetime…
Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him.
I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.
Hello, Moon. It’s great to be back.
Here’s a taste of what the Artemis II astronauts photographed during their flight around the Moon. Check out more photos from the mission: https://t.co/rzM1P0QbOl
Earthset.
The Artemis II crew captured this view of an Earthset on April 6, 2026, as they flew around the Moon. The image is reminiscent of the iconic Earthrise image taken by astronaut Bill Anders 58 years earlier as the Apollo 8 crew flew around the Moon.
We see our home planet as a whole, lit up in spectacular blues and browns. A green aurora even lights up the atmosphere. That's us, together, watching as our astronauts make their journey to the Moon.
This new video shows changes in Kepler's Supernova Remnant using data from @NASA's Chandra captured over more than two and a half decades. Located about 17,000 light-years from Earth, parts of the remnant are still traveling at ~13.8 million mph. https://t.co/Iwl7n8w0Of #AAS247
View of Starship landing burn and splashdown on Flight 10, made possible by SpaceX’s recovery team. Starship made it through reentry with intentionally missing tiles, completed maneuvers to intentionally stress its flaps, had visible damage to its aft skirt and flaps, and still executed a flip and landing burn that placed it approximately 3 meters from its targeted splashdown point
All elements in the image are real, and I photographed each one separately.
From the glow of the Sun to the blue hue of Uranus, the planets align in a harmonious cosmic scene.
Jupiter dominates the center, Saturn stands beside it with its grandeur, while Earth’s Moon was added symbolically at the top.
The order is accurate, but the scale is not realistic… (Neptune was neither captured nor included) to simulate the aesthetic of our solar system.
On May 27th, RESILIENCE looked back at us from lunar orbit, taking in a whole new view of an Earth rise from the Moon.
If it weren't for the clouds, the lander could have likely seen Japan here, where it spent much of its time on Earth being carefully designed, assembled and tested by ispace crew. We're eagerly gazing back today as landing time approaches.
Join us as we cheer RESILIENCE on!
