The climate activists have to collectively solve the global warming problem on their own because it cannot be solved by the collective effort of 195 countries. Here is why.

1. Most of the countries in the world including the US, the richest country in the world, are broke with global national debt of over 100% of the global GDP.

2. A huge amount of money will be required for solving global warming problem. All the equipment that runs on gasoline will need to be replaced with electric version of the following equipment - ships, airplanes, tanks, trucks, cars, tractors, harvesters, cranes, heavy earth moving equipment, bull dozers, water heaters, home heating, cooking stoves, lawn mowers, leaf blowers, and so on.

3. Developing countries like India will not be able to spend money to convert their hundreds of millions of gas cooking stoves to electric ones.

4. The US has convinced half its population that global warming is a hoax. Even if the politicians change their mind, the people are not likely to change their mind. They will never vote for a legislation to spend serious money on the global warming problem. If the richest country will not spend money, why would the poorer countries?

5. In a world divided into sovereign countries fighting for economic and military dominance, no money is left for spending on saving the planet.

6. Globalism is a dirty word in a world of America first, China first, India first, and planet last, or planet never.

There is a need of an independent science and engineering organization like NASA with a huge enough endowment fund to keep our planet healthy. The governments of the world will not fund such an organization because they have no money.

7, All the countries have been paying lip service to global warming at COP events for the last 30 years, it is highly unlikely that anything will be done in the next 30 years.

8. The Iran war has shown that the world depends too much on oil. It is highly unlikely that the governments of the world will force the oil industry out of business. Surely, the oil industry will not voluntarily put itself out of business to save the planet.

9. Oil producing nations are not likely to keep their financial assets locked underground as long as oil energy stays cheaper than other means.

10. Even if we totally stop the use of fossil fuels, it will take so long that the temperature of the planet will exceed the temperature at which permafrost will start thawing resulting in runaway global warming. At that point the only option will be to lower the temperature of the planet by removing a huge amount of CO2 from the air using CDR ( Carbon Dioxide Removal ). It will require a huge amount of money which no nation is likely to be willing to spend.

11. The temperature of the planet has already risen by about 1.5 degrees above the preindustrial temperature. This temperature is very close to the limit specified by the IPCC ( Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change).

Since no one is dying or losing a job, people have started believing that global warming is hardly a problem with a few people dying in heat waves, wild fires, and floods.

The predictions of crop failures due to draughts and floods has not occurred. Nor has there been huge climate disasters.

As a result, the climate science deniers in the US are even more convinced that global warming is a hoax. This means that the US is even less likely to take global warming seriously, and nor will be the other countries.

I hope this has convinced you that the world governments cannot and will not solve the global warming problem.

We can start looking for an alternate solution for solving the problem, only if we are convinced that the governments of the world cannot solve the problem.
