@FirstDoctor@drew_erz For a "doctor" this is a very dangerous claim. Even if a sip of alcohol is less healthy than zero, completely dismissing drink in moderation is stupid. You're basically telling people if they drink at all they might as well black out every weekend.
@grayap9@Deshpacito661 I suspect that the higher population densities in Europe make it practical for treatment plants to serve more people as they are within reasonable distance. Serving rural areas in the US means they would need a greater number of plants each serving fewer people.
@PlantsBikesBass@benfromsuffolk I'm mixed on this, I agree in principle but building so much parking decreases density making other means of transport less efficient, and increasing the necessity of a car. In a way it is therefore still carrot change, but definitely still ought to be accompanied by more
@katy_werry@_ShotgunShogun I'm not gonna say it's the same as the other way round, it's ridiculous to think a woman should take it as a compliment obviously. But as a man, I do think being catcalled would actually be something that would lift my mood, and I'm sure the same is true for many others.
@__itya@jeeeke2@MustaYassin@PlusEVAnalytics@dmesg I think it's most intuitive if you imagine 100 boxes, one with the prize. If you pick one and then someone at random picks 98 of the rest and none of them has the prize, it's still just a 50/50 to change or not, within this already low probability scenario.
@e2021da17@dmesg@PlusEVAnalytics Yeah this is the important part. They're trying to act all smart but in this situation anyone should assume the interviewer knows which envelope is the one that has the acceptance letter.
@KitsuneUrby@w1shIcouldbe@anon_opin Something I don't like being causing adverse health effects to others, incurring expenses on public goods and raising the rates of serious injury and death due to collisions. I think taxing against such externalities is pretty fair.
@Pranklin_My_Boy@HutsulArcher73@conorjrogers@JHWeissmann This is an utterly mythical interpretation of the past. It's astounding it's taken so much ground in the minds of people who are happy with a cursory yet unsatisfactory understanding.
