Hey all ๐ I wrote a book with a design friend. It's a handbook that covers the five major product design methods and the lesser-known alternatives. There wasn't a good resource that explains them all (with pros & cons, etc), so we decided to create it.

Gem alert: Product Design Process Handbook (https://t.co/3PqsgibQNs), practical book on major product design methods โ design thinking, double diamond, lean UX โ and alternatives.
A wonderful gift for product managers, product designers and engineers. By @iamfinch and Evan Ames.
This was an A+ purchase, especially the "pros and cons" section! Guess which one has this con "Potential for abuse by leveraging the terms for profit" ๐
Design leaders: a great gift for designers on your team who, like me back in the day, could get a little overly rigid on process when feeling overwhelmed. A really frank/honest overview like this would have helped me realize sooner that there's no such thing as perfect or correct

I'm about to release a project I've been working on. It's an iPhone app focused on casual photography and video. I could use a few more people to take it for a spin, smash all the buttons, and give me some honest feedback. Sign up at https://t.co/10oQ1fhDX0 #betatesters
I figured out how to make LinkedIn much better (less FOMO and imposter syndrome, more value.)
I unfollowed *everything*: All of the people and organizations that LinkedIn had me auto follow at one point, without any choice on my part.

Something Iโve been thinking about:
We all begin as a tooler (a tool reliant personโsometimes getting stuck there) and then later evolve into more of a critical thinker within our chosen career.
Are we all too obsessed with tools? What is the impact?
More thoughts in the ๐งต
I think itโs interesting to consider what would happen if we shifted from being toolers to thinkers and taught people differently. Iโm curious if you agree with this. Iโm more interested if you donโt agree and why ๐
