Bro to bro: if I have a concrete floor 4m x 5m, with a thickness of 200mm
1. What's the concrete volume?
(Who can remind us)
REINFORCEMENT (BRC MESH A393)
2. If the reinforcement is 10mm diameter, how many lengths will be required if they are spaced in 200mm c/c (center to center)?
Check this: 👇
The rods will be running through 4m and 5m, (crossing each other)
Through 4m,
Numbers of reinforcement:
= 5/0.2 + 1
= 26 numbers
Through 5m
= 4/0.2+1
= 21 numbers.
A. Length = 4m
Total length= 26 x 4 = 104m
1 length = 12m
So, 104m = 104/12 = 8.67
= 9 lengths approx.
B. Length = 5m
Total length = 21 x 5 = 105m
1 length = 12m
So, 105 length = 105/12 = 8.75
= 9 lengths approx.
Total no. of rods needed
= 9+9
= 18 lengths
Add 5% wastage
= 18 x 5% = 0.9
Total reinforcement = 19 lengths.
If 1 length of 10mm today costs
N 9,500
19 lengths = 19 x 9,500
= N180,500.00
NB: this is for a simple bungalow floor.
