Congratulations to the trial team- Prof Michael Reade, PM Belinda Howe- great to see a @anzicsctg trial in lights again at #CCRDownUnder
Also congrats to @iculisah and Zhomart who led this economic review alongside the trial @anzicrc
If you haven’t been following the UK COVID enquiry you must catch-up. The discourse of embedding research into clinical practice with available research infrastructure is vital. Funding support for #ClinicalTrialNetworks
& #ClinicalResearchNurses is important!
This week Ganesh and I gave evidence about the report we had written for the @covidinquiryuk. Our report can be found at https://t.co/g0viGYE1ee
For those that won't read a >100 page report (you should!), I thought I'd highlight some of our lessons learned/recommendations. 1/6
Thank you to the many thousands of people across the whole of the NHS & social care who helped deliver the care during the pandemic. Has been a strange and difficult day. But felt it was important to give witness to some small part of the enormity of the challenge we all faced.
@LachieMiles Hmmm… they ought to talk to all the research coordinators who are left with ‘project custodianship’ long after the trainee has rotated out. As for: “Ensuring that trainees have a constructive and satisfying research experience is critical”… all I can say is, we try.
This is an important #ClinicalResearchNurse workforce survey capturing metrics on employment contracts, line management, workplace environs and much more. Please respond and share accordingly.
Love this trial. Do you know how happy this will make ICU nurses? No more chasing the >4.5mEq/L target post cardiac surgery. Threshold of >3.6mEq/L is ok for patients, more cost effective and makes nurses happy. Win! Win! Win!

@NicStraiton Great article. Why have I commenced my PhD studies through Melbourne Medical school @CritCareUniMelb ? Because multidisciplinary support is what I need. Nurse-led research, by a clinician nurse researcher, outside a nursing faculty. Nurses can study outside their lane.
