Dangerfield Newby is the actual man on which the movie D’Jango Unchained is loosely based.

He was a member of the John Brown raiders. He joined the gang to save his wife, Harriet and children from slavery.

—Dangerfield Newby (1815 – October 17, 1859) was the oldest of John Brown's raiders, one of five black raiders, and the first of his men to die at Harpers Ferry, Virginia.

Born into slavery in Fauquier County, Virginia, Newby married a woman also enslaved. Newby's father was Henry Newby, a landowner in Fauquier County. His mother was Elsey Newby, who was a slave, owned not by Henry, but by a neighbor, John Fox. Elsey and Henry lived together for many years and had several children, although interracial marriage was illegal in Virginia. Dangerfield was their first child. Dangerfield Newby, his mother and his siblings were later freed by his father when he moved them across the Ohio River into Bridgeport, Ohio. John Fox, who died in 1859, apparently did not attempt to retrieve Elsey, Dangerfield, or any of his siblings. Dangerfield's wife and their seven children remained in bondage. A letter found on his body revealed some of his motivation for joining John Brown and the raid on Harpers Ferry.

Dangerfield Newby's wife, Harriet Newby, was the slave of Jesse Jennings, of Arlington or Warrenton, Virginia. Newby had been unable to purchase the freedom of his wife and seven children. Their master raised the price after Newby had saved the $1,500 that had previously been agreed on. Because all of Newby's other efforts had failed he hoped to free them by force. Harriet's poignant letters, found on his body, proved instrumental in advancing the abolitionist cause. Newby was six foot two.

On October 17, 1859, the citizens of Harpers Ferry set to put down the raid. Harpers Ferry manufactured guns but the citizens had little ammunition, so during the assault on the raiders they fired anything they could fit into a gun barrel. One man was shooting six inch spikes from his rifle, one of which struck Newby in the throat, killing him instantly. After the raid, the people of Harpers Ferry took his body, stabbed it repeatedly, and amputated his limbs. His body was left in an alley to be eaten by hogs. In 1899 the remains of Newby-plus remains of nine other raiders-were reburied in a common grave near the body of John Brown in North Elba, New York.

Dangerfield Newby's wife, Harriet and her children were sold to a Louisiana slave owner after the raid.

Among them was Cudjo Lewis, who recognized how his birth culture might be erased while toiling in this new land.

So when he was freed, he purchased two acres and started a self-sufficient community of survivors of the last slave ship.

Known to outsiders as Africatown, Lewis' neighborhood was modeled on his West African home, where extended families lived together, members conversed in their regional languages, and partook in traditions that might otherwise be lost to them in America.

Today, Africatown still exists and houses the descendants of the nation's last slave ship community.

A Black baby was decapitated during birth: The family requested a c-section while the baby was still viable, but the c-section was still delayed. The doctor insisted on attempting a vaginal delivery, although there was shoulder dystocia. The baby was handled roughly during delivery, and his head bones broke in the vaginal canal.

The hospital staff took great measures to hide the fact that the baby had been decapitated. They blatantly deceived the family by wrapping him up tight in a blanket and showing him through the window to make it appear that his head was still intact.They even tried to convince the parents to get the baby cremated to further hide evidence of their negligence.
The family didn't receive the news until much later.

The family has filed a lawsuit against the hospital, the doctor, and the staff.

BREAKING: A federal judge sentences a racist Kentucky Trumper to a whopping NINE years in federal prison for mailing shockingly racist threats to her interracial couple neighbors — and even painting the n-word and a swastika on their driveway.

But it gets even WORSE for her…

The Trumper, 54-year-old Suzanne Craft of Louisville, Kentucky, was also slapped with three additional years of supervised release.

Her mailings contained “bullets” and were “laced with profanity and racist epithets,” according to federal prosecutors. One of the letters even threatened the wife’s life, reading “DIE STUPID BITCH MOVE OUT.” 

She was convicted by a federal jury on five counts of mailing threatening communications.

In an rare move, the Justice Department released an official statement immediately after her sentencing, declaring that, “There is no room in civilized society for violent threats based on race. We hope that this result brings some measure of peace to victims who had to suffer through the defendant’s terrifying threats of racial violence.”

Let’s hope that her massive prison sentence serves as a lesson — and a deterrent — for all the other racists out there…

BREAKING: Legal experts sound the alarm as Trumper judge Aileen Cannon quietly makes her move to rig the classified documents case in Trump’s favor, announces that she will be moving the case from liberal-leaning West Palm Beach to a Republican district.

But it gets WAY worse…

This is devastating news for Special Counsel Jack Smith because legal experts say that the jury pool will be tainted by Trump supporters who are likely to give Trump a pass no matter how much incriminating evidence is produced during the trial.

Experts say that Judge Aileen Cannon’s shameless decision “means that Trump’s jurors are set to be drawn from, “The most brightly red corner of a vast court district, plucked from a community that leans heavily Republican — instead of the highly populous and more Democratic urban areas further south” — which will give Trump a “highly favorable jury pool.”

Another legal expert responded today’s news by declaring that “Trump is going to have a bunch of supporters” in the new venue, and “they’re going to make their way onto the jury panel.”

So there you have it, folks: the fix is in.
