@BlueDeathValley There are changes with the restructuring that we hope will help provide some leverage for other providers to be considered. I’m not 100% sure about how much longer is left on the current contract so I won’t speculate.
@BlueDeathValley Conference realignment discussions take the full scope of the university into consideration. It’s not just solely athletics. The university academic profile, university research standing (R1/R2), budgets, student athlete academics, endowments, etc. are all part of the decision.
@whobuildsarks@BlueDeathValley When we conducted our initial realignment benchmarking the CAA was actually the recommended option but at that time travel would have been more extensive (which we didn’t want). Now that they have a Northern & Southern division it makes sense. Great question!
@EyelivebyFATE@BlueDeathValley There were a number of meetings held to discuss the possibility of moving to CAA. I was part of at least 3. There were discussions with board members, coaches, donors, and other university constituents. Who do you feel was missed in the discussions and why?
@BlueDeathValley We need to raise more money for athletic facilities regardless of our conference affiliation. We have had plans in the works even before the move to the Big South. We are working on a communication plan to share information about the decision but we had to wait for the BOT mtg.
