Just watched TOXIC: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups and I’m still sitting in the dark theatre with my mind completely wrecked in the best possible way.
This is not a regular mass film.
This is not even a regular gangster film.
This is a dark, twisted, hypnotic, psychological fever dream that demands the kind of attention and cinematic maturity usually reserved for Christopher Nolan or high-end Hollywood auteurs. If you walk in expecting only mass high-voltage action and leave disappointed, the problem is not the film… the problem is the lens you’re watching it with.
@TheNameIsYash as Raya is pure poison and pure poetry at the same time.
That man doesn’t just act… he infects the screen. The swagger, the silence, the sudden explosions of rage, the quiet vulnerability when the mask cracks… it’s career-best territory. And then when Ticket enters the frame… the duality, the inheritance of trauma, the father-son mirror of rot and rage… it’s terrifyingly beautiful. Yash playing both sides of the same toxic bloodline is the kind of performance that stays under your skin for days.
Geetu Mohandas has crafted something dangerously ambitious. A fairy tale for grown-ups where there is no happily-ever-after, only the slow, inevitable poisoning of every soul that touches power, love, and revenge. The opium empire, the Portuguese-shadowed Goa, the circus of broken people, the women who are both victims and mirrors of the same toxicity… everything feels deliberate, layered, and deeply uncomfortable in the most artistic way.
Yes the runtime is long.
Yes the violence is relentless.
Yes the emotional undercurrents take time to hit.
But that’s the point.
This is not a film that holds your hand. It throws you into the abyss and asks you to swim. The editing, the sound design, Rajeev Ravi’s frames, the way the film keeps shifting between fever dream and brutal reality… it requires patience and a certain cinematic hunger. The kind of hunger that Nolan fans have when they sit through complex timelines and moral greys.
Kiara Advani as Nadia is ethereal pain.
Nayanthara as Ganga is the backbone of quiet devastation.
The entire ensemble exists in the orbit of one man’s self-destruction and yet every one of them leaves a mark.
Toxic is not for everyone.
It is for those who understand that the most dangerous fairy tales are the ones that look beautiful while they slowly kill you.
Yash, you absolute monster.
You didn’t just return.
You redefined the temperature of Indian cinema once again.
This film will be studied.
This film will be argued about.
This film will age like the purest poison.
A bold, unapologetic, high-art mass cinema experiment that only a star of Yash’s courage could have carried.
I’m still high on it.

So, I feel no shame in being proud of my country.

Because patriotism is not just saying, "I love my country." It is doing something that makes your country better.

Look, there are two kinds of children: one who spend their entire lives tallying what their parents gave them and what they didn't, and the other who take whatever they received and build not only their own life, but their parents' lives as well.

The difference isn't in the circumstances; it is in the mindset.

So why shouldn't we change our mindset as well?

Instead of constantly asking what the country has given us, why don't we think about what we can give to the country and what we can do for it?

Because India is changing, my friend. Now is the time for our thinking to change too, and for us to become part of building a new India.

So, call me a bhakt, call me an andhbhakt, call me a nationalist. I am Indian. I love my India. I believe in my India not blindly, but proudly, passionately, and unapologetically.

99% of BJP's support base is mostly silent, both offline and online. They're not vocal, they don't comment on every current affair, and in fact, they don't even defend BJP most of the time.

They simply use their voting rights.

On the other hand, 99% of the anti-BJP support base is constantly vocal. They speak on every issue, attack BJP, defend their leaders and engage in every online/offline battles.

BJP's 99% supporters don't speak. 99% of the anti-BJP supporters speak aloud all the time.

That's the reason you often see BJP losing regular battles (Protests, online narrative etc) but winning elections, while anti-BJP forces dominate online/protest etc things but struggle at the polling station...

The recent CJP episode is a perfect example. Almost all the anti-BJP voices were vocal, speaking against the govt online/offline, while most BJP supporters (ordinary supporters) were either silent or asking (privately), "Why isn't anyone from BJP speaking?"

But they themselves remained silent...

It's not because they're bad. They simply have better things to do. They know their voting right matters far more than winning an argument on social media. And many also know that the other side can be intolerant, personal and abusive, so why get dragged into the same dirty games?

One side loves the noise. The other side mostly votes...

In short: only a small fraction of BJP supporters are vocal, while a huge majority of anti-BJP voices are.

That's why Instagram/Twitter/X isn't India, and online noise isn't the EVMs..
