Chartered Accountants are not just auditors, we are guardians of financial discipline.
It’s heard from newspapers, etc that govt is considering to remove company audit below 1 crore of turnover.
Removing compulsory audits for companies below ₹1 crore turnover may look like “ease of doing business”, but in reality it weakens transparency, reduces creditworthiness and increases risks for lenders, investors & MSMEs themselves.
A proper audit is not a burden,
it is an investment in trust, a shield against fraud and the first step towards sustainable growth.
Government introduced compulsory audits for 5 strong reasons:
1️⃣ To protect public money- banks, suppliers, employees & customers
2️⃣ To ensure financial discipline & correct reporting
3️⃣ To prevent small frauds from becoming big crises
4️⃣ To build trust so MSMEs can get loans easily
5️⃣ To strengthen India’s compliance culture & formal economy
Requesting @nsitharamanoffc & @MCA21India, Let us strengthen compliance, not dilute it.
Let every business, big or small, rise on the foundation of credibility, good governance & true accountability.
We are moving towards 3rd largest economies in the world and we have built it by building trust in stakeholders. The Government can consider a single, more streamlined annual return for small companies, further reduce procedural requirements for board meetings, simplify financial statement disclosures, digitise and consolidate statutory registers, ease AGM-related processes through wider use of technology, and rationalise penalties for minor and first-time defaults. These reforms offer genuine ease of doing business while keeping the audit system intact, which is essential for transparency, trust and creditworthiness.
@dineshwadera ICAI discusses "global" opportunities. However, each nation has its own CA/CPA institutions. No need to produce CAs in India for others. Address the problem of "opportunities in India". Conduct a genuine survey to know the ground realities of "your products".
