Jalen Brunson addresses Knick fans on his LinkedIn, which I've been told before he has a legitimate hand in running:
"Winning an NBA Championship with the New York Knicks is everything I ever dreamed of. The fans, the city, this organization… This is why I came to New York.
I’m so proud of this team. No matter the situation, we never stopped believing in each other or lost sight of our goal.
With enough work and enough belief, your dreams are possible and you can overcome any obstacle. Whatever it is in life, believe that you belong.
People might disagree but let that strengthen your belief because with hard work, preparation, and the right mindset, anything is possible.
I can't wait to celebrate with my family, my teammates, the city of New York, and everyone who's been here from day one. We don’t win this championship without you!
I also look forward to continuing to support other people's dreams through my work with the Second Round Foundation, where our mission is helping young people determine their own success no matter where they come from.
It is important to me to support the under-resourced, under-represented, and under-estimated, and to ensure that they have the tools, guidance, and belief they need to achieve their dreams.
Thank you, New York. I am forever grateful. And always remember…The Magic is in the Work.
- JB"
They weren’t seeing the same coverages? Brunson got full court press every offensive possession and was blitzed every time he walked over the timeline. Ain’t no way we watched the same finals??? And now Brunson has the better supporting cast than SGA, if I remember correctly people were anointing them the next great dynasty??? Knicks lost in the ECF with the same roster last year, SGA won a chip last year with the same exact squad minus J-Dub. He’s a 2 time MVP… shouldn’t he be able to manage?
Not wasting any time or energy arguing about Brunson with anyone. He has averaged nearly 30 PPG in 61 career playoff games for the Knicks. He just led the Knicks to their first chip in 53 years and outplayed the reigning 2-time MVP against a Spurs team where he had to face one of the league’s best defenders with the unanimous DPOY roaming the paint. He scored 45 of their 94 points on the road to lock up the title. What more do people want?
Knicks on no sleep hit morning shows:
Strahan "You had things building up inside you (pause) let it go (pause)
OG on tip in: "I couldn't dunk it so I just tried to…touch it (pause)
Josh "I like to eat good (pause) wow
Mikal "I just want to bring my dog on the float
––
Savannah "Have any of you slept?
KAT "No
Mikal "OG hasn't
OG "Why me. Why me. Why me
Crowd "OG OG OG OG OG"
Savannah "You're so nonchalant"
OG "They say that
Josh (eats sandwich) (pause)
Jenna "This isn't your 1st championship together
(Josh tries to talk)
Jalen "No no no no…Me & Mikal have 1 more than Josh
Jenna "Who's gonna be MVP of the parade?
Jalen "Jose. Jeremy. Tyler. Maybe Mitch"
The #Jets and standout G Joe Tippmann have agree to terms on a big, new 4-year extension, sources say.
One of the game’s top young guards gets paid, as the #Jets are set to lock up another core player.
I was scraping over 30 traffic cameras in NYC last night to capture the celebrations around the city. Here are the highlights!!
Some of the later clips are so cool, you can literally see the minute the Knicks win and the fans flood the streets 🏀🗽
Josh Hart:
"Everybody wants to be the guy that scores the most, that puts the ball in the basket and that's not everybody's path. That wasn't my path and sometimes that's a tough pill to swallow but when you embrace that when you're a star in your role and you take pride in doing the little things that breeds winning basketball. For me as embraced as I was in this city wearing this jersey that sacrifice was easy. Some days it was tough don't get me wrong but you sacrifice for moments like this"
