Been watching the debate live. Let’s hope for some action to resolve this issue. Well done to @AndrewofSussex for his fight to enable our young people to access their own money 👏https://t.co/IRALXjQ8wn

@sainsburys I’m talking about a Changing Place (a large disabled toilet with an adult changing bench and hoisting) @ChangingPlaceUK not a cubicle for trying on clothes. These are essential for severely disabled people who can’t use a standard disabled toilet. So few in Surrey unfortunately😣
@sainsburys Redhill, what’s happened to your Changing Place please? Staff had no knowledge of one, couldn’t find it. Why close it? It’s still needed! What a waste 😢🙏♿️🚾@ChangingPlaceUK
#WhatMakesACarerCry is going through old paperwork and finding carers allowance letter from 2014 and realising that the allowance has increased £59 to £67 pounds a week in 2022! #
We’ve been living like this for over 2.5 years now, how many teenage girls go without a shower for days? Isabelle can only get a shower at school 😣 Oh for the “luxury” of an accessible wet room 😥 I’m sure the decision makers wouldn’t live this way for more than a few weeks.
NHS England have changed their visitors guidance so that only 1 PA can accompany a disabled person in hospital. But some people need 2 or more PAs.
Blanket policy that ignores the needs of some disabled people... seems awful and unlawful to me.
Here we go again!
