Are Jordan 1s truly dead?

I think it all comes down to personal perspective. From a hype and resell perspective, sure I can see that. But that perspective hasn’t been around as long as the shoe has so I personally don’t give it much weight in the narrative.

For a shoe that is 40 years old things are definitely going to look different as time goes on. It’s happened to the Air Force 1, chuck taylors, air max 1s, Stan Smiths, Shell Toes, etc.

None of those models are dead, they just shifted from trend → staple → heritage, and eventually will cycle back through again.

We are seeing that right now with the Jordan 1s.

So no, I do not think they are dead, they are just shifting within the culture. They are only dead to those who can no longer capitalize on their trending spot within hype and social media .
