KABATAAN HITS DUTERTE YOUTH'S THREAT TO EXPOSE CORRUPTION AS 'SELF-SERVING'

Kabataan Party-list Rep. Raoul Manuel on Tuesday, May 20, slammed Duterte Youth's threat to reveal alleged corruption in government, calling it "self-serving" and questioning the timing of such claims.

"Self-serving. Kung may alam pala sila tungkol sa korapsyon, bakit di nila isiniwalat dati pa?" Manuel said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

His remarks came a day after Duterte Youth Party-list Chairman Ronald Gian Carlo Cardema issued a fiery statement warning the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) that if their group is not allowed to assume its congressional seat, he would expose supposed “kalokohan” involving Congress and COMELEC officials.

"Sinasabi ko sa inyo COMELEC at sa nagkokontrol sa COMELEC… ikekwento namin lahat sa taumbayan ang mga kalookohan sa gobyernong ito," Cardema said, claiming knowledge of how millions of pesos are allegedly made through government decisions, accreditations, projects, and funds.

Cardema insisted that Duterte Youth only wants to fulfill its advocacy—to serve as an opposition voice in Congress and support the AFP and PNP in combating enemies of the state.

On May 19, the COMELEC proclaimed 52 of the 54 winning party-list groups in the 2025 elections. Duterte Youth's proclamation was withheld pending resolution of disqualification petitions over alleged grave violations of election laws.
