We want to correct a number of reports we are seeing. New Orleans is NOT currently under a boil water advisory. Our water pressure remains stable and our water remains safe to drink.
One of the reasons New Orleans is without power. This transmission line that runs across the Mississippi River from Avondale to Harahan had a collapsed tower. Lines are literally in the River. #hurricanida#lawx#neworleans
Please do not venture outside even to try and help people. It is still too dangerous. Yes we all want to help so badly but you will only put your life in danger as well. Everyone needs to still shelter in place. Please it is too dangerous outside and even worse in the dark. #Ida
We are stuck on top of my grandma Rooftop. My phone on 7% I’m asking anyone please Let someone know where we are in Jean Lafitte this water is constantly rising I am scared for my life my kids the the rest of my family Father God please help! #HurricaneIDA#IDA#Louisiana
‼️ The Kerner Swing Bridge in Lafitte was hit by a barge. Any residents that may still be in Lafitte are advised to not attempt to drive on this bridge. We do not believe it is structurally safe. ‼️
Entergy says all 8 transmission lines that deliver electricity into the entire New Orleans area have been lost. That means Entergy cannot generate its own power and will not be able to restore anything tonight. #HurricaneIda@WWLTV
‼️ We are issuing a Boil Water Advisory for the entire East Bank of Jefferson Parish due to the loss of pressure in the distribution system. 💧 Customers will need to boil their water as a precaution until this boil water advisory has been rescinded.
BREAKING @WWLTV: New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board has lost all three feeder lines from Entergy. That means the agency lost 12 megawatts of 60-cycle power to run its newer drainage pumps and is left with only Turbine 6 to make 15 megawatts in-house. #HurricaneIda
